One day last year
I was with my dear friend Rick, in a pastors office. We were taking about
what to sing for M.L.K weekend
He had done "Shower the People" the year before and it had gone
great.
I suggested we write something that day. How about "Said a King to a
King" I chimed.
. Well with Rick a good title is like rocket fuel, and away we ran to the
piano in the sanctuary.
Thank you B.P.Ev Free church for the use of the piano and the chance to sing
it there first.
SAID A KING TO A KING
We heard the words of a King, through the mouth of a King
He said "I have a dream" can you walk it with me
Said a King to a King, " I am the truth and the life"
Will you follow my ways through these darkest of days
Can we walk hand in hand black and white, God and man
Because of His suffering "we shall overcome"
Said a King to a King
And on a cool summer morn a King he was torn
and each day it will bring a taste of his suffering
When we take up His cross all is gained all is lost
for the life in His blood shed for us, paid the cost
And a promise was made and a promise was kept
"Oh death where is thy sting"
Said a King to a King
